Israel launched the offensive to stop rocket attacks from hamas controlled Gaza that have killed several israelis. How many is several compared to the 512 Palestinians killed and 2,500 injured since the air attacks began. Even if they say that they only target hamas militants, those are still human lives who have relatives and families of their own who would miss them. malaysian ex-prime minister urged a global boycott of the US dollar and US made goods as a way to retaliate against US's support of Israel in it's attacks on the Gaza. But the probability of such a measure being taken seriously is definitely zero as the US dollar rests deep within all the major financial markets of the world. Such an action would be economically suicidal as the US dollar is the standard trading currency, furthermore the US market is too large to miss a chance at profiting from. What is more is that who would want to make enemies with a superpower such as the US which is equipped with nuclear weapons and missiles that can travel half the globe. The ex-prime minister does give simplified enough explanations that "If you stop accepting US currency, the US can't trade and can't make any money,it will become very poor and it will have to stop the production of more and more weapons in order to kill people". But that against an economic downfall? No way. People need to make a living and in this age, money counts for almost everything. He was well known for his outspoken emotional antics but feelings often do drive us to irrational and unrealistic ideas. We must be smart and think with our feet first then once things are all settled, only then can we rave in our personal fantaicies.
